French official Stephanie Frappart became the first woman to referee a Ligue 1 game as she took charge of the 0-0 draw between Amiens and Strasbourg.

Frappart, 35, has overseen matches in Ligue 2 for the past five years before being promoted to the top division ahead of the Women's World Cup, which takes place in France. She will be the only French referee there this summer.

Frappart was also the first woman to referee in the second-tier division.
